SPORTS ACTIVITIES - 1999/2000

For the last quarter of a century our club has been organizing various indoor and outdoor competitions which for several years have been open both for members and non-members and which have every year increased their popularity not only in Mellieha but also in other localities.  Last season 1999/2000 was no exception.  This fact was highly manifested in the Presentation annual ceremony, which was held at the local Parish Centre main hall in October 1999.

Amongst these competitions, the now most popular Mellieha Inter-Leagues of Football, Snooker and Pool Table were organized on a team basis.

The other individual indoor competitions of Snooker, Billiards, Darts, Draughts and Dominoes were also organized.

Apart from all these competitions, our Club was also involved for the 18th consecutive year in the annual National “Snooker MLP” competitions organized by the Sports Commission of the Malta Labour Party.  Out of six competitions involved our club’s team managed to obtain three honors, namely the Good Conduct Shield, Best Player Award (won by Joe Debono) and for the first time ever, the Individual Competition Final. This was contested by two of our Snooker Team members, namely Joe Debono and the famous International Mellieha player, Alex Borg.
